Yesterday we had the most amazing afternoon.  It turns out that Alex is the butterfly whisperer.  She procured 24 monarchs from a local source for our photoshoot with the beautiful and fun-loving Grafenberg family.  I am just downloading the images now, but I had to post this sneak peek of sweet Maggie.  She posed for me in this spot with her little butterfly in a jar and waited for me to take her picture.  This was her capture really.  I just pressed the button.  I love when kids tell me how they want to be photographed with their body language.  So sweet.  Can’t wait to post more of this family.

Sometimes things just come together.  That was the case for us last Wednesday.  Many of you have heard me gush about Barb Uil, amazing creative force behind Jinky Art.  Well, she assigned her group of followers a task: to photograph our own little slice of heaven with and emphasis on the sun.  We were all to photograph a subject on a Wednesday in October and then to all post on October 15th.  Last Wednesday, we just happened to have the first clear day and beautiful sunset in a while.  AND I also had a adorable family scheduled.

So, here’s our piece of the puzzle.   Shot in a scenic pasture in Chapel Hill with the adorable (and growing!) Hadden family last Wednesday.  We had such fun with these three ladies, and can’t wait to see whether there’s a little brother or sister coming!

After you check these out, make sure to click through all the blogs below.  They’ll take you on a pictorial exploration of the sun in portraiture around the world with some of the sweetest, kindest photographers ever.

Enjoy!

After two reschedules (weather and an er visit) we finally got to shoot the adorable Engle family!  Inspired by my time at the Jinky Art Workshop in Chicago, Alex and I hit the grocery and bought scores of apples.  We hung them from trees, piled them in baskets and put them in a wagon.  But that was just the start.  Our adorable family had a blast with them – juggling them, eating them, swinging them from the trees.  It was a great time.  And I love the results.  XOXO, Corey

It’s a bird!  It’s a plane! It’s Superman….

Nope guess again:) It’s way cooler than that.  It’s Cate and she is the most super little hero we’ve ever met.  For her concept shoot we asked her Mom what Cate loves and she said “Super Heros!”

We whipped out our own super powers and got a vintage tricycle, made cape with a big C on it and a mask.  Then we found the best “Peter Parker” location and we were off!
